Role description

Clint is searching for an IT infrastructure project lead for 50Hertz in BERLIN. The client is a frontrunner in the transition of the energy sector for a sustainable world. As owner and operator of electricity transmission networks in Belgium and Germany. The has an important role and mission in supporting and implementing Europe's energy and climate policy. Our strategy accommodates the profound and rapid changes in our business. At the same time, it reflects our essence so that we continue to create value for society in the future.

The energy landscape has already seen huge changes but is about to go through its biggest transformation yet. Together, we work on essential questions like "How will the secure and optimal operation of an increasingly complex network be successful? What role will digitization play in this? It is a fact that innovative digital transformation solutions will increase the efficiency and quality of our company-wide operations. One aspect of this transformation is to create synergies between the two company application landscapes and participate to strategic evolution to the first European Digital TSO.

The GPC (AGBs) of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH (as of 03/17) apply unless other commercial conditions (e.g. framework agreement) have already been agreed with the bidder. Furthermore, all work results that are protected by copyrights or other non-transferable property rights, the client has the irrevocable, exclusive, free, freely transferable, freely sub licensable, temporally, objectively and spatially unlimited right to these work results in all types of use to use and exploit as desired. In particular, the client has the right to reproduce, disseminate, change, translate and use the work results under changes.

Description of required role and tasks

The client is looking for a highly talented and experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager (ITPM) to help carry out strategic IT infrastructure projects to meet their new needs in line with the new trends and challenges in the digital transformation. Together with colleagues from IT Application Development & Maintenance (ADM), Business departments, Innovation and other areas, the ITPM will work in networked teams to coordinate the implementation of new digital initiatives.

In his/her role the ITPM will be responsible for the central demand management of IT infrastructure ensuring sustainable, high-performance and flexible infrastructure solutions covering the needs of all client business lines, taking into account external and internal constraints (risks, costs, deadlines, technological developments, etc.) and above all ensuring the compliance to existing Infrastructure standards. She or he will furthermore coordinate reliable in-time service delivery while collaborating actively with all stakeholders at clients level in the search for synergies by proposing integrated architectures on domain and project level and common solutions for the Belgian and German entities.

Your tasks include:

Requirements management & solution design:

Acting as SPOC for the infrastructure department within various small-to-mid projects with our internal customers and/or external partners.

Drive application requirements to meet IT infrastructure standards

Be responsible for cost / resource / time planning in alignment with delivery units and customer expectations

Coordination of Service Delivery:

Coordinate the Service implementation with infrastructure architects and the operations team with the objective to meet cost and time targets

Continuously communicate with requestors and ensure alignments on progress or risks

Service Design

If required, support the design of new infrastructure standards and implementation as proof of concepts

Required skills and experiences:

Several years of experience with IT infrastructure technologies / management / operations in an enterprise environment (> 1000 users)

Reliable and structured handling of projects in above named technology sector with „drive and let's things get done" mentality

Straight steering of internal and external resources

Generalist in server-client-architectures, Active Directory, databases, server operating systems, storage and virtualization

Other important non-technical skills of the expert:

Has planning and organizational skills (can work with strict deadlines and deal with stress);

Is able to solve technical problems and work independently;

Is customer-oriented;

Can quickly learn new products and environments

Is able to write and validate processes and documentation;
