The Protection, Control and Metering (PCM) Senior Engineer shall provide the scope of works defined below, ensuring that the Protection, Control and Metering scope for the project is designed and delivered in accordance with the Employer's requirements, Grid Code and Network Connection Agreements requirements, other TSO requirements, the Company standards, industry relevant standards and best engineering practices.
The Protection, Control and Metering scope includes the Protection systems, the Substation Control System, the Platform Auxiliary Control System, the WTG switchgear control and protection and the Metering systems.

  • Ensure that the Protection, Control and Metering systems provided by contractors (including Substation Control System, Protection System, Platform Auxiliary Control system and Metering systems) are designed and delivered in accordance with the Employer's requirements, the Grid Code and Network Connection Agreements requirements, other TSO requirements, the Company standards, industry relevant standards and best engineering practices. Review and acceptance of technical deliverables, including but not limited to:
  • Protection Single Line Diagram
  • Protection basic design
  • Trip Matrix
  • Protection detailed design
  • Protection Coordination Study, including review of protection settings and configurations files
  • SCS Functional Description
  • Control Architecture
  • Communications Architecture
  • Protection and Control Equipment List
  • Signal list (including hardwired and communicated with third party systems)
  • Panel drawings (layout drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams,...)
  • Logic diagrams, including interlocks and tripping logics
  • HMI Representation
  • SCADA database
  • Testing Procedures and certificates
  • Interfaces with other systems, including protection system interface with TSO, signal exchange with TSO, interface for control and protection of WTG switchgear
  • CT/VT specifications and calculation reports
  • Wiring diagram for interconnection
  • Etc.
  • Ensure that the designs developed by the different Contractors involved on Protection, Control and Metering items are consistent, technically safe and coordinated with the rest of the windfarm design.
  • Support providing technical expertise to relevant project areas (electrical equipment, WTG, cables, commissioning, grid connection, O&M).
  • Ensure that the Protection, Control and Metering system passes adequate testing before the delivery of the system to site, including review of test protocols, carry out periodic inspections before FAT and attendance to FAT (at other contractor's facilities) to ensure compliance with Employer's requirements
  • Support the commissioning activities for key engineering design items. This support will include punctual visits to the OSS manufacturing site onshore.
  • Provide justification of technical decisions on basic and detailed design where needed. Ensure that all assessment, recommendations and decisions are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) is in place.
  • Attendance to, coordination and minuting of project meetings, internal and external with third parties, including contractors, TSO, and other relevant project areas.
  • Collaborate with Senior HSQE advisors to comply with standards and minimise legal/ regulatory risks. Ensure that health and safety and environmental requirements are fully considered and adhered to in design to ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice.

  • Proven experience (7 years) in engineering specification, design, commissioning and management of Protection, Control and Metering systems, including technical specifications, I/O lists, panel electrical drawings, interlocks, electrical protection design and protection SLD, control architecture, communication network, control logics, metering design, etc.
  • Experience in wind farm industry substation control and protection.
