General Purpose
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible to oversee, and coordinate activities of workers concerned with shipping and movement of turbine blades, storing, inventorying, ordering, receiving, issuing materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Responsibilities
Plan and direct shipping/warehouse activities implementing best practices with regards to stock levels, WIP, inventory days and inventory levels
Facilitate a safe working environment. Understand and enforce HSE policies, procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Directly supervises employees in the Shipping/Warehouse department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow; ensure all employees are complying with established policies and procedures
Set up the department to include employees, tools, equipment and processes which will control inventory of materials to a high accuracy
Gather, analyze and manage material delivery to production based on production plan
Gather, analyze and manage shipments of blades based on shipping plan. Determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
Assure shipping/warehouse is adhering to Quality standards
Advise employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems
Communicate and ensure all shipping teams safely expedite the transport of hazardous materials and waste, from accumulation sites, to 90 day storage, within strict regulation requirements.
Ensure that all shipping teams inspect, weigh, load, document, transport of hazardous materials and waste through shipping and receiving documents, bill of lading, and manifests.
Comply with state and federal regulations for handling, storage, disposal, transport etc. of hazardous materials and waste.
And all other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and additional software programs)
Ability to manage a team
Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions
Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the duration of the task
Ability to create and maintain a safe work area
Education, Training, and Skills Required
Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree a plus, or two – five years related experience in Warehouse, Shipping/Transportation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Good skills with loading and driving heavy equipment.
Background in transportation is preferred
Computer Skills:
General Microsoft skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
Knowledge of MRP, Time systems, Supply Chain Systems
Strong Natural Ability to lead/ coach the team
Strong Natural Ability to Work in Teams
Ability to create and maintain a safe work area
