Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Proposal Manager to drive the development of compelling proposals that align with our strategic business objectives. This role involves overseeing proposal creation from inception to submission, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with client expectations. The Proposal Manager will lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and oversee the development of persuasive content to support our business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Analyze solicitation documents and define proposal strategy, timelines, and resource needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, technical teams, and subcontractors to develop winning proposal strategies and themes.
- Direct writers, designers, and subject matter experts to craft clear, compelling responses tailored to client needs.
- Facilitate meetings with leadership, partners, and clients to align proposal strategy and execution.
- Oversee compliance matrix creation and ensure adherence to all RFP requirements.
- Manage proposal schedules, coordinate reviews, and implement quality control measures.
- Lead the team through proposal milestones, including kickoff meetings, color reviews, and final production.
- Develop and maintain a content library to improve efficiency and consistency across proposals.
- Support interview preparations and develop presentation materials for key client engagements.
- Maintain industry knowledge, monitor trends, and incorporate best practices into proposal development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in proposal management within the AEC industry.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale pursuits ($50M+), particularly within the public sector.
- Strong understanding of design-build procurement processes and agency requirements.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign), CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), and proposal automation tools.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work under pressure, and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and proposal presentations.
