Accounts Payable Manager Responsibilities

  • Overseeing routine department activities to ensure that they are completed accurately and on time, including but not limited to supplier invoice processing and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete financial, employee, and client records.
  • Compiling, analysing, and reporting financial information to management.
  • Setting and facilitating the achievement of department objectives.
  • Managing the employee expense claims' process.
  • Planning and execution of the supplier's payment runs.
  • Hiring, training, motivating, and evaluating accounts payable staff members.
  • Developing, implementing, improving department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal & external parties.
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, credit cards etc.

Accounts Payable Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, management, or a related field.
  • Previous Accounts Payable and management experience is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting and management principles and accounts payable procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially business solutions and bookkeeping software.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyse information and processes.
  • Motivation to develop and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Commitment to ethical behaviour with a willingness to adhere to all company policies.
