Business Change Manager
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The main purpose of the role is to ensure business readiness of either all elements of one project or specific elements of multiple projects by working in partnership to co-ordinate, manage and align delivery of business change activity for projects which have significant change impacting one or more areas of the business. Using LEAN management techniques and/or project and programme planning cycles, ensure successful implementation of transformation projects. Ensure appropriate elements of the Business Change Framework and deliverables are consistently applied and add value to programmes and projects. To support design, development and delivery of approach, tools and templates for one or more business change disciplines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential Functional / Technical Skills
Substantial previous experience of working across most or all Business Change disciplines on large scale transformational projects and programmes.
Exceptional customer focus, ensuring that customer benefits are always at the forefront of activity.
Experience of managing transformation project lifecycles
Able to demonstrate subject matter expertise with a strong understanding of business change best practices.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of project management and lifecycles, including knowledge of phase and gate review processes.
Knowledge of change management techniques, models and theories, and experience of their practical application in business contexts; LEAN management awareness/ skills desirable.
Previous people and/or third party contractor management experience preferred, with a focus on performance and engagement
Commercial or technical background in regulated business
Strong networking skills, building stakeholder engagement and influencing at senior level
Able to scope and specify requirements for specialist input e.g training, communications to meet business needs.

Business Knowledge
Good knowledge of the operation of electricity distribution / transmission networks
Good understanding of statutory, regulatory & license requirements, industry wide codes, network and engineering standards.
Cross departmental knowledge, along with its strategic goals and objectives.
Experience of developing project specifications and documentation to meet lead times.
Informed knowledge of GDPR, business separation, procurement and competition requirements.
Detailed understanding of operational Distribution business, astute awareness of commercial challenges around DSO, Pricing, ED1 and ED2
