MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The HO Business change and Organisational Effectiveness will be responsible for defining and leading strategic business change and organisational effectiveness across the entire IT function as well as supporting those parts of the commercial businesses that interface with IT. Effectively this means implementing the new IT operating model and organisational design that enables agile ways of working.

This will need to be underpinned by a centre of excellence for organisational effectiveness. Ultimately this will impact the skills and capabilities of all professional internal and external colleagues who deliver and support the delivery of digital technology across the group.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


* Design and delivery of business change and organisational effectiveness strategy for IT
* Design and implementation of strategic resource management and planning
* Design and implementation of strategic skills and capability development
* Design and implementation of the new IT operating model and organisation design
* Support the identification and removal of organisational impediments / handoffs
* Development and oversight of the graduate programme
* Recommend the annual plan and strategy for Business Change and Organisational Effectiveness
* Define and deliver the talent development plan for IT
* Inform Group CIO and FD of the changes and improvements to IT operations
* Perform monthly review and play back of changes and improvements
* Liaise with comms and engagement workstreams to ensure organisational changes are understood and adopted
* Develop and maintain an organisational effectiveness and strategic resource management capability
* Enable and coach all operational and delivery teams in the new IT operating model
* Align organisational structures to business requirements and strategies
* Expert deployment of agile and lean practices and associated training
* Mentor and coach organisational effectiveness; advocate and influence change, passionately driving organisational excellence and continually striving for 'breakthrough improvement' in all projects

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Business Knowledge
* Highly experienced senior leader with 10years plus of transformational change experience, likely gained through internal transformational change function, HR or a management consultancy background
* In-depth operating model, organisation design and resource management knowledge including strategy definition, planning, and implementation
* In-depth transformational change experience in large, complex organisations including both hard and soft skills - programme management, change management, culture, and leadership
* Experience of setting up and delivering strategic resource management
* Experience of setting up and delivering talent development
* Understands the key levers that organisational effectiveness, how they interact and how best to change them to optimise business results
* Experienced in designing and implementing culture change, particularly using agile and lean to establish a continuous improvement culture
* Can help senior business leaders solve complex issues by performing analysis, providing recommendations through utilising a combination of experience, technical knowledge, and a broad range of relevant tools, models and techniques
* Strong financial and budgetary management knowledge and understanding of financial processes with ability to translate change proposals into sound financial business cases
* Understanding of technology and digital transformation

Essential Functional / Technical Skills
* Educated to degree level, MBA or equivalent is desirable
* Relevant practitioner qualifications in Project/Programme Management
* Agile and or Lean experience

* Expert in business strategy, change management, programme and project and Lean methodologies with track record of developing and driving significant business improvements
* Clear strategic thinker, able to balance short-term activities with long-term vision
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal). Ability and flexibility to operate effectively at all levels within the organisation
* Genuine team player. Good at building consensus/agreement. Can cultivate strong collaborative working relationships within work groups, and across company functions.
