Remote working

The role is to support Enterprise customers in the efficient, secure connection of sites to Enterprise services. Customers include Solar and Battery, Private networks, IDNO networks requiring connection to services such as Enterprise control centre for remote SCADA electrical control and monitoring as well as commercial control and operation for trading the Assets and CCTV services.

This role is to work closely with the Business unit understanding the growing portfolio, templating architectural patterns and working with the security teams to ensure design and implementations are compliant to standards and frameworks such as Cyber Assessment Framework and Cyber security connection guidance from Energy Networks Association (ENA) for example.

The role will work closely with the Telecoms providers in articulating requirements, templates and assuring designs and implementations as well as being involved in the service management approach for such networks.

Skill-set to include:

  • In-depth knowledge about a network's technological requirements.
  • offer technical guidance on networking solutions, technology roadmaps, and product plans.
  • Developing network and related architectures and solutions based on requirements.
  • Driving standardisation into all aspects of the network platform.
  • Partner with business unit and development team SMEs to develop best -practices that can be proactively incorporated into architectural and engineering designs.
  • Engaging with internal and external customers for briefings, issue escalation, and complex solution development
  • Documenting network capabilities as appropriate for both internal and external consumption
  • Providing escalation support for troubleshooting and resolution of all network data and security issues as required by other infrastructure support teams.
  • Maintain expertise in data network security technologies to ensure that cost-effective solutions and processes are deployed and aligned with business direction.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key vendors and ensure that all technology and services roadmaps are understood and leveraged where applicable.
  • Participate in IT Risk Management initiatives in line with industry and corporate Audit and Compliance strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, as significant customer interaction is required
