Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior management in creating and implementing EHS policy, guidelines and management systems.
  • Ensure implementation, review and auditing of EHS systems in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Monitor and update appropriate safety and environment system procedures as per changes in legislation and company directives.
  • Motivate and train personnel to comply with company system procedures and safety equipment.
  • Provide support to Commercial, Engineering and Operations departments on EHS matters.
  • Conduct safety audits and accident/incident investigations, and analyze statistics to identify trends and suggest improvement plans.
  • Conduct safety audits on sub-contractors, participate in HAZOP meetings, and perform risk assessment.
  • Prepare HSE documentation for new tenders and provide safety support and advice during initial contract start-up activities.
  • Liaise between clients on safety related issues, and provide safety-related engineering input into new projects and modification programs.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Environment, Health, Safety and Environment.
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation, HSE Auditing Techniques, HEMP, Radiological Safety.
  • Some experience and understanding in renewable energy power plants are preferable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems (preferable).
  • Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese is required.
