The Role

Experienced Power Bi Specialist that has a strong track record in working closely with the business to define requirements, undertake data analysis to support decision making and develop engaging data visualisation. The candidate should be a confident communicator with experience in working closely with stakeholders of all levels including the ability to advise, train and support.
Understanding how the full suite of Power BI products work is essential (embedded, Reporting Services). A strong background in delivering using cloud-based Microsoft Azure Data and Analytics capabilities, Microsoft DevOps (VSTS) and Agile delivery. Knowledge and experience in Data Science technologies and prototyping is would be a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Ingesting data from a variety of data sources and performing required transformations in the Power BI query editor using a mixture of utilizing the UI and writing M code
- Utilizing effectively the navigation features in Power BI (e.g. bookmarks, drill-through) to guide readers through a compelling data-driven story
- Provide technical support and guidance through prototyping, testing, build, and launch of Power BI products
- Data Modelling and developing calculations in DAX which are accurate and performant on large datasets
- Designing effective layouts using Data Visualisations best practises
- Develop production-ready Reports, Dashboards and deploy to corporate platform
- Strong experience with:
o Custom visuals
o Dynamic reporting
o Best practices data modelling
o Performance oriented apps
o Power BI embedded skills
o Row level security

Skills required:
- Up to date knowledge of latest Power BI features and functionality
- Strong data analysis skills
- Proficient in writing SQL, DAX, and M
- An in-depth understanding of how the Power BI Service works
- Knowledge of SSAS (Tabular and Multi-dimensional) , Flow and Power Apps beneficial
- Confident communicating with stakeholders of all levels including the ability to advise, train and support staff and clients where necessary
- Self-starter/able to work independently
- A track record of working in an agile delivery environment
- Ability to organise and manage own time according to agreed project priorities and deadlines
- Able to take ownership of problems and requests as well as the ability to work in a fast pace team
