Background:

Our client are a large and diverse energy company and a primary partner of COP26. To help them reach their strategic goals in 2030, which are linked to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, several initiatives are underway. Significant changes are taking place in this part of their business that will need your experience to deliver the right solutions to support the growth of the business. There are large change initiatives underway for digital transformation and an overhaul of the IT estates.

Role:

You'll be responsible for the delivery of the high-level architectures and solution designs for the Corporate systems. You'll establish strong relationships with stakeholders by inspiring confidence in the delivery of a portfolio of business-focused projects and initiatives. You'll follow our clients project delivery and architecture frameworks. You'll be very familiar with SaaS - based solutions and with Cloud best practices, with a strong preference for Azure. You will be leading effective conversations with Cloud and infrastructure architects, Security architects and engineering. You'll show ability to quickly address problems at the right level, from high level application architecture to detailed integration patterns.

A key part of the role will be to ensure we make progress on our key issues, while keeping solutions aligned to organization and industry standards and with other programs/projects, for which a seamless collaboration with your team and with other Architects across the business is fundamental.

What do I need?

You'll need to demonstrate that you'll be able to perform in the following areas:

Understand the problem space: delivery of solution architectures and designs for solutions through their full lifecycle, while maintaining alignment with IT/industry standards and company strategy

Being recognized as a trusted adviser to business stakeholders and being able to quickly "map" the business needs to application functionality/features.

Being able to lead a project from an architecture perspective, ensuring that all decisions that are architecturally relevant can be taken following the appropriate governance (including peer review) and proactively informing the project plan in that direction

A track record of delivery in both waterfall and agile environments.

Understanding of Event Driven Architectures and related patterns.

Experience with Oracle eBusiness suite architecture would be an advantage.

Excellent communicator with ability to operate within cross functional teams

Understand a broad range of technologies, ideally including current digital technologies, Integration and Public Cloud - specifically Azure.
