Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with experiences from within the Infrastructure or Development sector to join our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing business, the Project Management Services group where you will be working with clients in the Development, Highways, Rail, Utilities and Environmental sectors.
Responsibilities will include assisting in project delivery for key clients, monitoring and reporting on progress against project baseline data (Scope/Time/Cost/Quality), and assisting in the creation and monitoring of project change and risk profiles in accordance with the contract and clients' requirements.
Responsibilities of the role:

  • Deliver the projects safely to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the project life cycle, company standards and other specific legislation.
  • Provide a professional, first class, consistent and effective project management service to the clients, including project monitoring and reporting systems in accordance with company standards and guidelines.

  • Manage project change, risks and contingency within the project life cycle and provide all cost, contingency and programme details.
  • Schedule and conduct project meetings, including taking project records and distributing them to project stakeholders. Including site attendance during critical stages of works.
  • Manager the development of contract assessments and notifications.
  • Assist the Company in discharging its duties under CDM Regulations 2015 (Construction, Design and Management Regulations).


About the team
The role is based within the Utilities Team, part of the Project Management service and involves working on behalf of clients and stakeholders to support in the delivery and management of the utility aspect of projects, ranging from residential, commercial and industrial development, through to highways and infrastructure schemes.
About you
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience and knowledge of within the Infrastructure or Development sector
  • Ideally educated to degree standard in related subject
  • Membership of a relevant professional institute
  • Professional experience within a consultancy environment
  • An understanding of the principles of effective project and programme management. Prince2 or APM are preferred. Demonstrated by a professional qualification.
  • Qualified to NEC Accredited Project Manager in either NEC3 or NEC4 is desirable.
  • Experience of assisting in the management of contracts including the use of NEC3 (ECC and PSC) and sub-contractor/consultant management.
  • Experienced in using MS Project for project scheduling.
  • Experiences gained from working on large scale projects within the Infrastructure or Development sectors is desirable.
  • Experience of working on Section 278, Section 38 or Section 184 projects are desirable
  • Experience in working with stakeholders including Local Authorities, Highways England, Network Rail, HS2, National Grid, Environment Agency, Developers and Tier 1 Contractors. Including secondment roles.
  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral, with the ability to adapt communication style to suit different circumstances.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
  • A 'self-starter' with drive, positivity and enthusiasm and a strong desire to succeed.
  • Reliable and trustworthy; always acts with consistency and integrity.
  • Ability to draft Reports for Clients, communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical clients
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of an experienced team within BWB and collaboratively as part of a Multi-disciplinary Team with other Consultants
  • Ability to lead, coordinate and manage multidisciplinary project teams


This position will allow flexibly working but we would expect some travel to meet teams based at various office throughout the UK.
