Description:

  • Responsible for producing data models and understanding where to use different types of data models. Can understand different tools and can compare between different data models. You can reverse-engineer a data model from a live system. Can understand industry-recognised data-modelling patterns and standards.
    * Can develop and set data standards for an organisation. You can communicate the business benefit of data standards, championing and governing those standards across the organisation.
    * Understand data governance and how it works in relation to other organisational governance structures.
    * Can provide an overall perspective on data architecture to support business issues, events and activities, and understand their wider implications and long-term impact. This could include determining patterns, standards, policies, roadmaps and vision statements.
    * Can work with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into data designs. You can create optimal designs through iterative processes, aligning user needs with organisational objectives and system requirements.
    * Contributes to the Target Data Architecture and definition and maintenance of standards (the Technical Reference Model) by supporting Enterprise Architecture
    * Ensures compliance of all high-level solution data models and solution data architectures to the Target Architecture, roadmaps, architecture principles and standards
    * Assesses the impact of business change requests on the existing data architecture and support the prioritisation of these changes
    * Provides direction and guidance on projects ensuring adherence to Data Architecture and Design standards and the Target Architecture
