Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer provides support and assistance to Project Managers and the construction teams in the performance of all project management functions for successful completion of construction projects within established time and budget goals and to the complete satisfaction of the client. The capability to coordinate with other building design disciplines is critical. Experience with diverse project types including industrial projects, warehouse/distribution, food processing plants, institutional and commercial projects is a plus.

General Responsibilities

  • Assists in the review and coordination of design documents with architecture and engineering disciplines.
  • Develops subcontractor interest in bidding projects.
  • Receives and reviews pre-qualification forms for preparation of bidding of project work.
  • Assists in the preparation of all documentation packages for competitive bidding of projects work.
  • Assists in the tabulation, review and analysis of all bids.
  • Assists in the preparation of contract awards, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
  • Assists in the preparation and update of project costs and schedules.
  • Coordinates information with the field manager.
  • Assists in job site inspections and project progress meetings.
  • Assists in the review, processing and tracking of vendor submittals.
  • Expedites delivery of material and equipment.
  • Assists in the preparation of internal and external project status updates including schedules and cost reports.
  • Assembles, reviews, and transmits project closeout information for all contractors.
  • Provides required warranty follow-up.
  • Promotes and maintains positive client and subcontractor/vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of construction management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field
  • Working knowledge of field construction: systems, practices, safety and procedures
  • 10 hour OSHA certification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of engineering systems is a plus
  • Proficient in Procore, MS Office, and MS Project
  • Knowledge of basic accounting, budgeting, and cost allocation procedures
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Up to 25% travel may be required
