Rail Signalling & Telecoms Engineers (all levels)Location: UK - mainly remote workingDuration: 18 - 24 monthsOutside IR35Role OverviewWe are seeking experienced Rail Signalling & Telecoms Engineers to support the design, installation, and commissioning of signalling and telecoms systems for major rail projects across the UK. You will help deliver safe, efficient, and reliable railway operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and produce signalling and telecoms designs, including control systems, interlockings, and lineside equipment.Prepare design documentation, technical reports, and drawings in line with project and regulatory standards.Support project delivery from concept and feasibility studies through to detailed design and implementation.Conduct site surveys, assessments, and support testing and commissioning activities.Ensure compliance with Network Rail standards and applicable safety and quality regulations.Liaise with multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure integrated project delivery.RequirementsDegree in Electrical, Electronic, or Telecommunications Engineering (or equivalent).Experience working on UK rail signalling and/or telecoms projects.Knowledge of relevant standards and systems (e.g., Network Rail signalling principles, ETCS, GSM-R, FTN).Proficiency with design software and signalling tools.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Chartered status or working towards chartership (IET or equivalent) preferred. ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
