GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Head of Export and Interarray Cables will lead the cables team in charge of delivering the offshore export including an onshore section and the interarray cables package on the SouthCoast Wind project, with scope including approximately 170km of cable supply, cable lay and cable burial as well as horizontal direction drilling works at the cable landfall site.

EXPERIENCE
* A proven track record in subsea cable installation with at least 5 years' experience in the offshore wind industry is required.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is desirable.
* Candidates shall have a demonstrable understanding of health, safety and environmental best practice and how this affects early stage project design activities.

KNOWLEDGE
* Experience in a multi-disciplinary project environment is required. A strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice in the field of subsea cable installation is essential.
* Demonstrable knowledge in all of the following areas is required:
* Standards/regulations and best practice associated with the design and installation of subsea power cables.
* Subsea cable route engineering and installation.
* Planning and consenting processes associated with offshore transmission assets.
* High voltage equipment operation and maintenance.
* General project management techniques and best practice in the context of complex, high value projects.
* FIDIC and LOGIC contract forms.
* Knowledge of the US offshore transmission regulatory regime is desirable.

SKILLS
* Capability to provide strong leadership to a team of project staff and to lead relationships with suppliers appointed for the subsea cables works.
* Ability to communicate across all levels of the project team and to support (and manage where required) the relationship with external stakeholders.
* A pro-active approach to project and contract management in order to identify risks and opportunities early and initiate appropriate actions.
* Ability to work within approved budgets and under deadline pressure.
