A gaishikei wind developer is currently seeking a field engineer who will be entrusted with the management and maintenance of essential renewable development assets crucial for supporting meteorological campaigns aimed at designing and evaluating large scale renewable energy projects in Japan.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise development assets, including meteorological towers and LiDAR units.
  • Collaborate with project developers to strategically plan, direct, coordinate, and execute meteorological resource campaigns.
  • Conduct regular mechanical and electrical maintenance on existing meteorological towers and LiDAR units, overseeing in-house fieldwork and coordinating major overhauls with suppliers or vendors.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to evaluate asset re-allocation and ensure compliance with relevant codes.
  • Coordinate equipment scope of work with third-party consultants, vendors, and supplier services as required.
  • Ensure sufficient data acquisition or implement necessary remediation efforts to meet or surpass acquisition thresholds.
  • Integrate insights gained from experiences into workflow procedures.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements through participation in various training sessions and conferences.

Requirements:

  • Possesses 2+ years of solid field maintenance work experience.
  • Capable of coordinating and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skilled in identifying critical obstacles and implementing necessary countermeasures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Japanese (listening, speaking, reading, and writing business level and above).
  • Willingness to travel with a valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the renewable energy sector.
  • Experience with LiDAR and meteorological towers.
