Senior Process Engineer (Outside of IR35)

Remote - occasional site / office visits

12-month contract

The Role

For this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Designers working to deliver an exciting new major production facility located in Scotland.

The product is related to environmental protection and will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the future.

The key purpose of this role is to develop process engineering deliverables to support the delivery of the detailed design phase of the project.

You will be working remotely with occasional visits to the project office in Motherwell, and the site office near Glasgow. As a Senior Engineer, you will report to a lead process engineer for a key part of the project scope which may include utilities, tank farm, or main processing equipment.

You will be supported by a large team including several other experienced process engineers.

Responsibilities

Development of P&ID's

Heat and mass balance calculations

Production of process datasheets, specifications, and schedules for equipment and packages

Pressure drop and pump sizing calculations

Attending HAZOP reviews and other risk assessments

Equipment sizing calculations

Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors

Utility system specification, design, and capacity evaluation

Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings Assist in plant layout development

Essential Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering from a UK university

Experience in one of the following: chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or food & drink sectors

Experience in detailed process engineering design and calculations
