A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a skilled Battery Engineer Manager based in Tokyo, Japan. This role is critical in improving the technical management of battery projects, and expand technical capabilities through knowledge, modeling, and detailed design processes.



Responsibilities:

  • Design and model Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and hybrid systems.
  • Develop comprehensive energy storage solutions encompassing battery technology.
  • Integrate bi-directional inverters, AC systems, and DC/DC converters into battery designs for both stand-alone and hybrid applications.
  • Utilize software tools like HOMER and PVSyst for detailed component modeling of battery and hybrid systems.
  • Oversee battery design and construction by contractors for projects in Japan.
  • Collaborate with Technical Advisors on project feasibility, detailed engineering reviews, and construction finance due diligence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a focus on battery technology.
  • Over 2 years of industry experience in industrial BESS integration, inverter OEM, or EPC.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESS system design, industry standards, and best practices for installation and commissioning.
  • Strong verbal and technical writing skills in both English and Japanese.
