A leading solar energy developer is looking for an electrical engineer to join the engineering team and be at the forefront of solar projects across Japan.

  • Monitor and report on solar policy trends and technical standards in Japan.
  • Engage with utility companies to negotiate terms for grid connections across our projects in Japan.
  • Provide guidance and support during due diligence processes for projects ready for construction.
  • Lead the design and optimization of grid connections to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to timelines.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partners to negotiate and oversee the construction of transmission lines.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of permits, licenses, and authorizations necessary for project implementation.
  • Conduct preliminary capacity consultations and submit formal applications for Greenfield projects.
  • Serve as the primary contact point with the Japanese Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA).
  • Ensure technical compliance with utility and governmental specifications.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Holder of relevant electrical engineering qualifications, (電気主任技術者、電気工事士)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the electrical engineering field within Japan.
  • Demonstrated experience with electrical works, particularly power supply and grid connection, along with a deep understanding of Japanese regulations.
  • Business level Japanese and a minimum of Intermediate level English.

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous solar industry experience.
  • Possession of "First-Class Electrical Work Operation and Management Engineer" certification(一級電気工事施工管理技士).
