An ambitious foreign offshore wind developer is seeking an Onshore Electrical Package Manager to act as the global interface between business partners, engineering, construction, and the Project Team and oversee the onshore based electrical package of an offshore wind farm.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan, control time schedules, and budgets for offshore wind project electrical balance of plant setup.
  • Establish the electrical balance of plant supply chain, including requesting and executing quotations for budgetary information.
  • Interface between business partners, internal engineers, and the Project Team, leveraging lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Assess electrical system design, grid code compliance, manufacturing control, installation concepts, and commissioning.
  • Lead discussions with grid operators and negotiate grid connection agreements.
  • Implement cost reduction initiatives to optimize CAPEX and OPEX for bid preparation and FID.
  • Design, prepare tenders, evaluate, and negotiate contracts for the electrical package.
  • Contribute to risk identification and management for the project.
  • Interface with consent and land teams to secure construction and operational requirements for onshore electrical equipment.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in large, complex capital projects from development to construction phases.
  • Knowledge of HV and EHV transmission systems.
  • Familiarity with Japanese grid infrastructure and grid codes.
  • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and grid operators.
  • Business proficiency in Japanese.
  • Flexibility for frequent travel within Japan and abroad.

Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience in renewable energy/offshore wind industry.
  • Experience in major cable or electrical equipment manufacturing or electrical construction.
