Transport Planner - Development Consultancy
Location: UK-based, flexible working with minimum 3 days in-office

A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to strengthen its Development Consultancy team with the appointment of a Transport Planner. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile projects across the public and private sectors, advising developer clients and delivering innovative solutions in property, development, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans to support planning applications.

  • Carry out junction capacity modelling using industry-standard software such as JUNCTIONS and LINSIG.

  • Analyse data and produce clear, evidence-based reports for submission to local authorities and clients.

  • Liaise effectively with local authorities, highway officers, and other stakeholders.

  • Manage projects independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary internal teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in private consultancy, ideally within transport planning or a multidisciplinary environment.

  • Proven track record advising developer clients on planning and transport matters.

  • Proficiency in junction modelling and capacity analysis software.

  • Strong technical writing skills with experience producing professional reports.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Flexibility in working patterns, with a minimum of three office-based days preferred.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related subject.

  • Logical and analytical approach to problem-solving with the ability to think creatively.

  • Work experience in Transport Planning, Highway Design, or Town Planning is advantageous but not essential.
