Civil Site Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager to support additional capacity on a major electricity transmission infrastructure project. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and quality requirements.This role operates within high-voltage substation environments and requires strong leadership, extensive National Grid experience, and excellent knowledge of safety, quality, and construction management processes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day site operations, including site operatives and subcontractorsPlan, develop, and implement safety documentation, including:Construction Phase PlansSite Quality PlansRisk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)Prepare daily Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and allocate works accordinglyProduce and maintain Site Specific Risk Assessments and Method StatementsDeliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefingsUndertake regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulationsDevelop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely delivery of worksAttend and contribute to weekly progress meetingsResolve site issues, constraints, and conflicts as they ariseEnsure quality control measures are implemented throughout the projectMaintain accurate site records and documentation, including a detailed site diary covering labour and activitiesLiaise effectively with stakeholders, including contractors, designers, and project teamsEssential RequirementsCandidates must hold the following:National Grid NSI 6 & NSI 8 (Full)SMSTSFirst Aid at WorkSHEA Power / CSCSTemporary Works Coordinator & Temporary Works SupervisorProven experience acting as Principal Contractor Site Manager (PCSM) on National Grid projectsDesirable Experience & QualificationsExtensive knowledge of construction methodologies within the Electricity Transmission industryCompetency to work in substations ranging from 66kV to 400kVKnowledge and experience working under NEC contractsStrong understanding of current health, safety, and environmental legislationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage budgets and programme timescales effectivelyStrong team-working skills across multi-disciplinary project teamsIT literacy, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, and ExcelFull UK driving licenceWillingness to travel and work away at project sites as requiredRelevant qualification in construction, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineeringPrevious or current National Grid TP 137.11 authorisationExisting SSE authorisation (minimum CAT1C) advantageousersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants. Due to growth, a major player in the Electrical Engineering space is searching for a HV/MV Project Manager to service multiple MV/HV Electrical projects across Ireland. This role is focused on the planning and execution of high voltage and medium voltage projects, requiring 5 years or more of experience across substations, transmission and distribution networks.This role will see you based in our client's West Dublin offices for 2-3 days per week, with travel to site expected around Ireland. Design Manager The Design Manager will lead a specialist engineering design team, overseeing technical delivery, interfaces, commercial matters, and project documentation. The role acts as a technical authority within the organisation, responsible for developing team capability, ensuring quality, and managing budgets, risks, and contract variations.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as primary client contact and coordinate project opportunities.Lead and manage the team to deliver high-quality work on time and to required standards.Oversee and approve design checks, reviews, constructability assessments, and technical sign-off.Ensure team competence, compliance with UK regulations, and adherence to CDM2015.Manage risk, including HAZOP/HAZID/HAZAN activities, and ensure construction/operational needs are met in designs.Apply project management techniques for accurate forecasting, programming, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.Contribute to the development and improvement of quality systems and processes.Essential RequirementsBachelor's or master's degree in engineeringChartered EngineerStrong knowledge of the UK Energy sector and DNO clients.Proven multidisciplinary project management and commercial understanding.Experience with CDM2015 and health & safety responsibilities.Proficient in Autodesk and MS365.Strong communication skills and experience preparing tenders/proposals. ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
