Senior Electrical Design EngineerJob Summary:We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team. This role will involve leading electrical design projects and supporting the development of a high-performing electrical design team. You will play a key role in delivering HV and MV design solutions across sectors such as Substations, Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind), and Battery Storage systems. Key ResponsibilitiesClient-facing role, representing Powercomm in technical discussions.Lead electrical design projects from concept through to completion.Prepare detailed design reports, specifications, and technical documentation.Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.Liaise with Clients, Utilities (e.g., EirGrid/ESB), and Local Authorities.Provide technical leadership on HV/MV systems including substations, transformers, switchgear, and protection schemes.Mentor and support Graduate and Junior Engineers, reviewing and approving their work Qualifications & Experience:BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with post-graduate design experience in an engineering consultancy or similar environment.Strong experience in HV/MV electrical design, particularly in substations, power distribution, protection systems, and grid connections.Demonstrable knowledge of electrical infrastructure design including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and control systems.Proven ability to manage design documentation, including reports, calculations, and technical specifications.Proficiency in electrical design software such as EPLAN & AutoCAD.Highly motivated with strong awareness of health & safety, quality, and environmental considerations.Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development.5+ years relevant experience.
