Team Lead - Substation Electrical DesignAbout the Role: We are currently recruiting for a Team Lead (Electrical Design - Substations) to join our clients team.The successful candidate will be based in the Dublin office (with flexibility to work from one of the other office locations).Travel to and from site may occasionally be required, but this will be predominantly an office-based position. As Team Lead, the successful candidate will be taking on an engineering management role on major Power, Renewable & Substation projects. You will be responsible for identifying, managing, and coordinating all electrical design requirements and deliverables on substation projects. You will be involved in technical and strategic decision making. You will be a team leader, and provide mentoring, support and technical development to team members. You will ensure that all design outputs meet the required technical, quality and safety standards. ersg is searching for a Sales Manager in the Power, Transmission & Distribution sector, specifically selling HV GIS switchgear (132kV to 400kV). Our client is hiring due to growth, going from 1 transformer projects to delivering over 100 projects in the UK. Candidates with experience of working on major projects, building relationships and selling to TSOs or DNOs.This role requires technical acumen, understanding the value proposition of non-SF6 switchgear vs SF6 switchgear. It is essential that you have experience of selling to HV projects (132kV to 400kV). Primary Substation Engineer (Distribution)The Primary Substation Engineer is responsible for the design and delivery of primary substation projects across the electrical distribution network. The role covers the design, specification, and technical assurance of substations ranging typically from 11kV to 132kV, supporting network reinforcement, customer connections, asset replacement, and infrastructure expansion.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign primary substations for distribution network projects.Produce substation layouts and general arrangement drawings.Specify primary plant including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, disconnectors, and associated equipment.Prepare engineering calculations including earthing, cable sizing, equipment ratings, and fault level assessments.Develop technical specifications and equipment schedules.Review supplier designs and vendor documentation.Provide technical support throughout construction and commissioning.Ensure designs comply with company standards, ENA standards, BS EN standards, and statutory regulations.Participate in design reviews, HAZID, and constructability assessments.Support project delivery from concept through commissioning.Provide engineering support for asset replacement and network reinforcement programmes.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
