ersg are working with a major investor/developer of Utility-Scale BESS projects across the UK to recruit a Construction Manager.As Construction Manager, you will oversee the delivery of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover. Core responsibilities include; Lead day-to-day onsite construction activities for BESS projects.Manage EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.Ensure compliance with HSE policies, site safety requirements, and environmental regulations.Monitor project schedules, milestones, and construction progress.Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning activities.Conduct site meetings, toolbox talks, inspections, and progress reporting.Identify and mitigate construction risks and resolve field issues promptly.Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are implemented.Track project costs, variations, and change orders.Support project commissioning, testing, and final handover documentation.This role will see you working client-side, so presenting to key stakeholders such as investors is a critical skill. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to support the delivery of a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major renewable energy infrastructure scheme and play a key role in the successful installation and energisation of grid-scale energy systems. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day electrical installation activities on site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising LV and HV electrical installation activities across the BESS project while managing subcontractors, electrical teams, and specialist suppliers on site. The role will involve ensuring all works are completed in accordance with HSEQ standards, project specifications, and programme requirements. You will review and implement RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work while coordinating daily site activities with project management and commissioning teams. The role will also include supporting QA/QC inspections, snagging, and handover documentation, monitoring progress against programme milestones, and assisting during energisation and commissioning phases.RequirementsCandidates should have previous experience working as an Electrical Supervisor on renewable energy, BESS, solar, HV, or substation projects with a strong understanding of LV and HV electrical systems. Applicants should hold SSSTS or SMSTS certification alongside a valid ECS or CSCS card. Strong subcontractor management and site coordination experience is essential, along with a proactive approach to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. The terms of appointment shall include (but not be limited to):a) Impose a duty to monitor compliance with the environmental commitments provided in the EIA Report as well as the following (the EnvCoW works): the Pre-Construction Ecological Survey under Condition 28; the Construction Environmental Management Plan under Condition 18; the Peat Management Plan under Condition 30; the Habitat Management Plan under Condition 29; Biodiversity Enhancement and Planting under Condition 4; Species and Bird Protection Plans under Conditions 26, 27; the landscape and planting plans under Conditions 5, 6 and 7.b) providing training to the developer and contractors on their responsibilities to ensure that work is carried out in strict accordance with environmental protection requirements;c) Require the EnvCoW to report to the nominated construction project manager, developer and Planning Authority any incidences of noncompliance with the EnvCoW works at the earliest practical opportunity;d) Undertake a pre-construction survey not more than 3 months prior to commencement of construction and as required throughout the duration of the project to protect the ecological resources within the site;e) maintains a Register of all inspections and audits, to include an inventory of all measures on the site, their effectiveness, as well as any advice provided; andf) Require the EnvCoW to submit a monthly report to the construction project manager, developer and Planning Authority summarising works undertaken on site.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
