CAD Engineer - Leeds (Office-Based)Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire Employment Type: Full-time, PermanentWe are seeking an experienced CAD Engineer to join a well-established design team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of trenchless pipeline design projects, including micro tunnelling and horizontal directional drilling, for a respected engineering organisation.The Role:As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining 2D and 3D design models and drawing packages to support the design and delivery of infrastructure projects. Working either independently or collaboratively within a project team, you'll contribute to a range of drawings including:Plan and vertical sectionsGeology profilesMonitoring plansShaft general arrangements and detailsTemporary works drawings (as required)You will take designs from concept through to construction issue, using data from topographical and utility surveys, OS mapping and live construction models.Key Responsibilities:Produce, amend and maintain 3D/2D model data and drawing packages within a common data environment (CDE).Ensure CAD models meet internal QA, client and industry BIM standards.Prepare scheme designs under supervision where required.Identify and resolve spatial coordination and layout issues.Support the CAD Manager in maintaining quality and consistency across projects.Actively contribute to the development of CAD standards and best practices.Skills & Experience Required:Essential:Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.Minimum 3+ years' experience as a CAD Technician/Engineer.Ability to generate and manipulate surfaces, alignments, and profiles in Civil 3D.Minimum BTEC Level (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or similar discipline.Previous experience within a construction or engineering environment.Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).Strong attention to detail and commitment to CAD standards.Organised, proactive, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.Working knowledge of BIM processes and common data environments (CDEs).Desirable:Knowledge of steelwork or reinforced concrete detailing.Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, or MicroStation.Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.Key Competencies:Technical excellence: Strong technical understanding and continuous improvement mindset.Ownership: Takes responsibility for quality and delivery.Client focus: Builds positive relationships and represents the company professionally.Communication: Clearly conveys information through drawings, reports and discussions.Team contribution: Supports and mentors colleagues where appropriate.Innovation: Proactively identifies improvements and new ideas.If you're an experienced CAD Engineer with strong Civil 3D skills and a passion for technical design, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team delivering high-quality engineering solutions.📩 Apply now or get in touch to learn more about this opportunity.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
