Generator Controls EngineerLocation: South East England | Travel Required Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Salary: Competitive, DOEThe RoleAn established engineering business is seeking an experienced Generator Controls Engineer to deliver control and commissioning solutions for generator and power distribution systems. This is a hands-on role covering system configuration, testing, and on-site commissioning.The role suits an engineer who enjoys working on live systems, dealing directly with customers, and seeing projects through from design to final commissioning. This is not an office-only or software-only position.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, configure, and commission generator control systemsConfigure and troubleshoot generator controllers including synchronisation and load sharingRead and interpret LV and HV electrical schematics for integration and fault findingImplement and test circuit breaker switching logic, interlocks, and protection schemesSupport FAT and SAT testing of control panels and generator systemsCarry out site commissioning and performance testingProduce technical documentation including I O lists, control philosophies, and test proceduresWork closely with electrical design, commissioning, and site teams to deliver fully integrated systemsWhat We Are Looking ForStrong experience as a Generator Controls or Commissioning EngineerSolid understanding of LV and HV electrical systems and switchgear controlHands-on experience with generator controllers such as ComAp or similarKnowledge of generator paralleling and grid-connected or islanded operationFamiliarity with G99 and G59 requirementsGood working knowledge of electrical safety standards such as BS 7671 and IECComfortable working independently and on-site with customersWillingness to travel for commissioning and support activitiesDesirable ExperienceRemote monitoring systems and industrial communications such as Modbus or TCP IPAbility to review or edit schematics using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLANElectrical safety or HV switching certificationExperience with renewable or hybrid power systemsersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants. Senior Supervisor - Overhead Transmission Line Works (Kolda, Senegal)Start: February Assignment length: Through May 2026, with the possibility of continuing depending on performance and project needs Languages: Fluent English and FrenchIdeal BackgroundStrong preference for candidates with an engineering education.At least a decade of hands‑on experience in major infrastructure or transmission line projects.Confident working autonomously, with a proven track record of managing technical challenges on site.Previous involvement in OHTL construction, including interfaces with substation switchgear.Solid understanding of safety rules, quality expectations, and technical compliance for large‑scale works.Valid H0vB0 and SST certifications (or equivalent). If not already held, these must be completed at the beginning of the assignment.Role OverviewThe specialist will support Voltalia during the construction and commissioning of the overhead line.
