Solar Design Engineer

Labourers x5 (CSCS) required for a Solar Maintenance Project in Chester. No Solar Mechanical experience required - full training will be given. Key responsibilitiesManage and monitor HSE arrangements across a regional portfolio of sites and projects.Provide advice on UK HSE legislation, CDM 2015 where applicable, risk assessments, RAMS and safe systems of work.Undertake site visits, inspections and audits, following up on findings and improvement actions.Support incident reporting, investigations and root-cause analysis, ensuring lessons learned are shared.Work with contractors and subcontractors to monitor performance and maintain appropriate HSE standards.Support project teams through construction and other relevant delivery phases, helping identify and control risks.Monitor HSE data, prepare performance updates and identify areas requiring further attention.Promote engagement, effective communication and continuous improvement across the region.Experience and qualificationsRelevant HSE experience within renewable energy, power, construction, civil engineering, utilities or a comparable sector.Experience working across multiple sites or projects.Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, construction risks and contractor controls.Practical experience with inspections, audits, incident investigations and HSE management systems.NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.IOSH membershipConfident stakeholder-management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both site-based and senior teams.Salary and benefits £65,000-£75,000 annual salaryCar allowance Other company benefits ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants. We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager / Site Construction Supervisor / Site Engineer to support the delivery of the BESS Hambach 2 project in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.You will be responsible for coordinating and supervising construction and installation activities on site, ensuring that works are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.This is a hands-on site-based role suited to a proactive construction professional with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and supervise construction and installation activities on site.Monitor and verify that works are completed in accordance with approved construction and execution drawings.Ensure compliance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards and health, safety and environmental requirements.Participate in regular site and construction meetings with contractors and project stakeholders.Monitor, track and document construction progress, providing regular updates to the Project Manager and Site Management Team.Coordinate activities with other site supervisors and discipline leads to ensure efficient project execution.Identify, document and report defects, non-conformities and contractor/subcontractor performance issues.Support the preparation and issuing of non-conformance reports and deficiency notices where required.Review and assess contractor variation claims and change requests.Assist with the inspection, testing and acceptance of partial and final project deliverables.Support the implementation and close-out of corrective actions to ensure project objectives are achieved.Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.Candidate RequirementsEssential QualificationsDegree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.Alternatively, a certified Engineering Technician with relevant site supervision experience will be considered.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
