About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a major infrastructure project. This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented quality professional who is passionate about delivering projects right first time and driving a culture of excellence.

Working closely with project teams, designers, subcontractors, and stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring quality standards, client requirements, and project procedures are consistently achieved throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of project Quality Management Systems.
  • Assist in the development and management of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct internal audits and support supply chain and design partner audits.
  • Review subcontractor quality documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective action close-out.
  • Promote a proactive quality culture and defect-free approach across all project activities.
  • Support project handover documentation and quality reviews.
  • Deliver quality awareness training and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure quality activities align with sustainability and carbon reduction objectives.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Coordinator, or Quality Assurance role.
  • Previous exposure to civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, rail, construction, or similar engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience producing and reviewing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Knowledge of auditing processes and quality assurance practices.
  • Experience managing NCRs and driving corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Full UK working rights- This role does not offer sponsorship
  • HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Good understanding of:
    • ISO 9001
    • Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
    • NCR Management
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Document Control and Quality Records Management

Desirable

  • CQI Quality Practitioner (PCQI)
  • CQI Diploma in Quality Management
  • IRCA Internal or Lead Auditor Certification
  • ISO 14001 Auditor Training
  • ISO 45001 Auditor Training
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or above)
  • Knowledge of BIM and digital construction processes.
