We are looking for an ambitious, conscientious person who wants to be part of a vibrant team and is willing to learn. You will be expected to have the following personal attributes and skills:

  1. Proven ability to work sociably as a team player in an often busy environment.
  2. Technical design background in electrical building services engineering with experience in managing M&E design teams and nurturing junior design engineering staff.
  3. Keen to be actively involved in growth and development of the M&E service line throughout the business and have aspirations to progress their career.
  4. Strong IT skills in the use of BIM focussed design software, Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD combined with a practical approach. You will also be able to demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment whilst also having personal initiative.
  5. Technical independence within the field of electrical building services engineering design and project management.
  6. Be presentable and able to convey a professional image at client, project and internal team meetings and whilst surveying buildings.
  7. Hold a full UK driving license.
  8. Minimum requirement of a HNC or relevant degree level

Senior / Principal Highways Civil Engineer Initial 6-month contractOutside IR35Mainly remote working About the RoleWe are seeking a number of skilled and motivated Highways Civil Engineers to join our clients infrastructure team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of major highways projects, with a particular emphasis on schemes for National Highways.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake detailed design of highways and associated infrastructure in accordance with DMRB and MCHW specifications.Manage and contribute to the development of feasibility studies, detailed design packages, and technical reports for National Highways schemes.Support project delivery through all RIBA stages, from concept to construction.Prepare drawings, specifications, and contract documents using CAD (AutoCAD/Civil 3D) and other industry-standard software.Lead or support liaison with National Highways, local authorities, statutory bodies, and other key stakeholders.Ensure project documentation complies with CDM 2015 and other relevant UK legislation.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.Monitor project budgets, programme schedules, and quality performance.Essential RequirementsBEng or MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng/IEng), or working towards this with a relevant professional institution (ICE or CIHT).Minimum 6 years' experience in the design and delivery of highways projects, with direct experience working on National Highways projects.Strong knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, CDM Regulations, and National Highways standards and procedures.Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MX Road, and drainage design packages (e.g., MicroDrainage).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Desirable SkillsExperience with ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) and Design and Build contracts.Understanding of Road Safety Audits and Traffic Modelling inputs.BIM Level 2 compliance experience.Familiarity with project management tools and reporting.ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
