Control Engineer (High Voltage Operations - Wind Farms)
Location: Norddeich, Germany
Work Pattern: 24/7 Shift Operation (Early, Late, Night shifts)
Duration: June - October 2025
The Control Engineer is responsible for overseeing all high-voltage circuit operations across wind farms managed by our client in the Continental Europe region. Based in Norddeich, the engineer ensures safe and efficient control of electrical systems, adhering strictly to our client's Electrical Safety Rules, and acts as an authorized switching operator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform authorized switching operations in collaboration with offshore teams.
- Monitor and coordinate operations via SCADA systems.
- Act as the primary interface with the national grid operator
- Develop, review, and implement switching protocols and obtain necessary execution permits.
- Participate in risk assessments related to offshore work (Work Authorization processes).
- Monitor and respond to alarms from SCADA and IT systems.
- Coordinate immediate response actions in the event of faults.
- Provide safety instruction to external contractors working in the electrical sector.
- Support fault diagnosis and resolution, including generating work orders in SAP.
Work Schedule:
- 3-shift rotation covering Early, Late, and Night shifts.
- Typical shift cycle: Early (E), Early, Late (L), Late, Night (N), Night, followed by Free (F), Free - subject to some variation.
- Shifts average 8.75 hours per day.
- 5-6 consecutive working days followed by 2-3 days off.
- Standard working week is Monday through Friday, with rotating shift coverage over weekends as required.
