High Voltage Electrical Engineers - Senior / Principal / AssociateLocations: Manchester, Birmingham, GlasgowA leading engineering consultancy is expanding its Energy team and is seeking Electrical Engineers with experience in High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) systems. Opportunities are available at Senior, Principal, and Associate levels.The OpportunityWork across major projects in transmission and distribution, supporting HVAC and HVDC systems from feasibility through to design and delivery. Projects span sectors including offshore wind, interconnectors, nuclear, utilities, data centres, and more.Key ResponsibilitiesLead or support technical delivery of HV/EHV projects (11kV-400kV)Conduct power system studies including grid compliance (e.g. G99, G5/5, P28/P29)Use industry-standard software (e.g. PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP)Model both conventional and inverter-based generation systemsCollaborate on bids and client-facing work, offering technical guidanceWhat We're Looking ForDegree (BEng/MEng/MSc/PhD) in Electrical or Power Systems EngineeringChartered or working towards ChartershipStrong technical background in HV design, modelling, and analysisUnderstanding of UK grid connection processesProficiency in DPL, Python, or equivalent scripting languages (desirable) ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants. Responsibilities:Identifying potential sites for wind power generation projects and conducting feasibility studies.Building relationships with prefectures, municipalities in project areas, and engaging in business briefings and dialogues with landowners and stakeholders.Managing budgets, monitoring progress, reporting, and overseeing cash flow. Telehandler required to work on a 20MW solar farm project located near Seville, Spain for a Solar EPC Main Contractor. This role requires practical experience operating Manitou brand telehandlers on construction sites. Operators will have experience working alongside multiple subcontractors.
