ersg are searching for a Substation Commissioning Engineer to join a major contractor in the Irish Power, Transmission & Distribution sectors. This role requires someone with experience in commissioning ESB substations, and you will be working across multiple projects across Ireland.

The successful candidate will be responsible for;

  • Verifying all primary and secondary substation plant/equipment is suitable for a Declaration of Fitness.
  • Conduct all on-site HV commissioning tests on related plant.
  • Verify communications systems (SCADA, RTU, automation systems) are operational.
  • Lead commissioning on protection and control equipment.
  • Review and ensure comprehensive documentation of all test records.
  • Develop and nurture the update of commissioning procedures and standards.

You will have demonstrable experience in the commissioning of ESB HV substations. Qualifications will include a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, ideally Power Engineering. You must have a full, clean driving license and be able to prove your eligibility to work in Ireland.
