A global leader in high-performance smart energy technology is seeking a Field Service Engineer for their service operation acorss Japan. The position offers work from home with frequent visits to sites across Japan. The successful candidate will strengthen their technical support and service team to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.



Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical consultation and troubleshooting support to customers via phone, email, chat, etc.
  • Train and support system troubleshooting and problem resolution for products in the field.
  • Travel to installers or end customers to provide service or emergency repair (fix, replace, install inverters, optimizers, communication equipment, and accessories).
  • Assist with commissioning of residential or commercial solar systems and provide final commissioning reports.
  • Validate the authorization to release parts needed to solve customer and contractor problems.
  • Manage customer installations/sites configuration database for performance reporting, replacements, or troubleshooting.
  • Advise customers on equipment operation, maintenance, or programming.
  • Liaise with customers and EPCs to collect necessary documentation and equipment requirements before site visits.
  • Write reports for every site visit in the CRM and resolve cases lodged by customers.
  • Provide regular technical training to customers and service partners and prepare training documents.


Required Skills/Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in a technical engineering role, including 1 year in a customer-facing role.
  • First-class electrician license or second-class electrician license with completion of certified electrician training course.
  • Driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel nationally.


Desired Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience in the construction industry in Japan
  • Proficiency in both Japanese(JLPTN2) and English
