Lead Piping Designer

Inside IR35

Assignment is in the function of Lead Piping design for a variety of industrial and chemical process type facilities.

Individual must have current design experience in process piping design and have the ability to utilize a P & ID to develop a constructible and cost-effective layout which can involve skids and modularization along with development of 3D models to prove.

Job will involve Pre engineering/Pre-FEED along with Basic design/FEED work that will involve layout of Plant. This will include line shoots to prove layouts and or skids/modules, along with operational construction and maintenance considerations and reviews.

Individual must have a working knowledge of valves, in-line devices and typical support details. Individual will gather information from all sources required, including other disciplines, vendors, engineers, reference drawings and catalogues to be able to successfully fix a plant layout, skid and or module and providing enough detail for a detail design house to pick up and finish.

All Piping design work will be done in the Smart plant 3D software. Use of MicroStation software also integral with design responsibilities.

Able to write strategies and document basis for Feed work and be able to identify risks.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software particularly Excel and word.

Individual will need to attend site for surveys and may need to develop Tie-in/retrofit packages as part of the scope,

Individual to be able to lead their own small job with other team members and is generally self-sufficient.

Individual must be able to travel.

Key skills:

1) Smart plant 3D Piping Design.

2) Smart plant 3D Equipment modelling.

3) MicroStation Plot Plan layout.

3) Leading small jobs, being generally self sufficient

4) Tie-in and retrofit experience.

5) Minimum 15 years relevant experience.

6) Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.
