A leading foreign developer in offshore wind is currently looking for a talented project engineer to join their development team in Tokyo. Previous experience of wind energy is reffered but not required.
Role and Responsibilties:
- Facilitate project engineering activities for informed and competitive design decisions, coordinating project-level design, energy production estimates, project consent, and innovation integration.
- Manage multidisciplinary activities with a focus on safety, clear communication, and alignment.
- Support continuous improvement in safety, project economics, and innovation within workstreams.
- Maintain thorough documentation of workstreams and design decisions.
- Conduct design optimization activities, including best practice development, cost modeling, and technical reviews.
- Act as a bridge to energy production and loss disciplines, ensuring alignment throughout the project.
- Coordinate innovation workstreams, feasibility assessments, and business case inputs for optimal project value.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree with 3+ years of industry experience, preferably in Offshore Wind, Onshore Wind, or large infrastructure projects.
- Licensed Professional Engineer or relevant experience supporting design and owners engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of the comprehensive offshore wind market.
- Experience in engineering system design, optimization, and cost and schedule modeling.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards applicable to offshore wind projects.
- Readiness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English
