A foreign wind developer is urgently looking for an experienced foundation package manager to join their rapidly expanding engineering team in Tokyo. You will have the rare opportunity to be a part of the early stages of the offshore wind industry in Japan and will be working on a future project scheduled to start construction in 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development and implementation of innovative designs for offshore wind turbine foundation structures.
• Oversee detailed design process, ensuring safe and high-quality fabrication, delivery, and installation of foundation structures.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to produce cost-effective foundation designs for development projects.
• Interface with geotechnical and geophysical experts to optimize foundation design based on local soil conditions.
• Manage completion of Request for Quotations with Procurement, devising a cost-effective supply chain concept.
• Ensure timely project delivery, identifying and mitigating potential delays.
• Uphold stringent safety standards through intelligent design and risk management.
• Effectively manage project budget, ensuring adherence to contract requirements.
• Evaluate and manage risks associated with foundation package within broader project.
• Incorporate operational lessons learned into future projects and support various departments as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Engineering degree from accredited university in relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Certified Professional Engineer/Project Manager with proven leadership abilities.
• Demonstrated expertise in large engineering infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in steel fabrication and offshore engineering/installation.
• Strong negotiation, project execution, and contract management skills.
• Track record of success in international business environment.
• Willingness to be based in Tokyo with international travel availability.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

• Experience with new offshore wind turbine foundation structures during project origination and development phases.
• Familiarity with developing cost-effective foundation designs for renewable energy projects.
• Previous involvement in optimizing foundation design according to local soil conditions.
