Job Title: HSE Advisor (Civil Engineering - Data Centre Project)Location: Helsinki, Finland Contract Duration: 6 Months Start Date: ASAPRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support the delivery of a large-scale data centre project in Helsinki, Finland, with a focus on the civil engineering package (groundworks, concrete, structural works, utilities, and associated infrastructure).The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across site operations, supporting safe execution of works in accordance with Finnish legislation, EU directives, and company HSE standards.This is a site-based position requiring strong field presence and proactive engagement with supervisors, subcontractors, and the client team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day HSE support to the civil construction team on siteMonitor compliance with Finnish health & safety legislation and project-specific HSE requirementsConduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety walksSupport and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)Ensure high-risk activities are properly planned and controlled, including:Excavations and deep drainage worksLifting operationsTemporary worksConcrete pours and structural worksHeavy plant operationsDeliver site inductions and toolbox talksParticipate in daily briefings and coordination meetingsAssist in incident investigations and root cause analysisTrack and report HSE performance metricsPromote a positive safety culture and behavioural safety initiativesLiaise with client HSE representatives and regulatory authorities as requiredEnsure environmental controls are maintained (waste management, dust, noise, spill prevention)Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Relevant HSE qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent)Proven experience as an HSE Advisor on large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projectsExperience working on mission-critical or data centre projects preferredStrong knowledge of excavation safety, lifting operations, and temporary worksExperience working in a multi-contractor environmentExcellent communication and reporting skillsFluent English (spoken and written)Desirable:Knowledge of Finnish HSE legislationExperience working in Nordic countriesFirst Aid certification ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
