This month, we spoke with highly skilled Rope Access Supervisor and Site Technician Team Lead, about his journey, his role, and his advice for those looking to build a rewarding career in this demanding but fulfilling field.

 

 

His Career

Zygimantass career began over a decade ago with a simple online discovery that changed his path. I started work offshore as a rope access technician 12 years ago because I saw that on Facebook and just wanted better life,he explains.
Since then, his work has taken him around the world. He tells us how he has traveled around Europe, China, Nigeria, and so on, where hes developed his skills across a variety of offshore and technical environments. His role has grown with experience, and today he manages teams, oversees operations, and liaises directly with clients.
Im rope access supervisor, site tech. team lead and sometimes working with projects as technical manager or communicating with clients for upcoming projects,he says. I can describe myself as multitasking person.

 

 

What is a Rope Access Technician

Rope access work plays a vital role in the renewable energy industry, especially for offshore wind. Rope Access Technicians are trained to perform inspections, maintenance, and installations in challenging and high-altitude environments where precision and safety are paramount.
As a Rope Access Supervisor, Zygimantas ensures his team can perform complex technical tasks safely and efficiently, often in demanding offshore conditions. The work requires physical endurance, strong teamwork, and attention to detail, as well as leadership and problem-solving under pressure. Zygimantas  is honest about the challenges that come with the job. Sometimes you get tired of hard working days with low salary, but all this will pay back just need time. Be patient.”
