The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a shared framework for addressing some of the world’s biggest challenges, including education, equality, climate action, economic growth and environmental protection.

Global Goals Week brings together organisations, businesses and communities to support progress towards these goals. At ERSG, we support the SDGs through our work in renewable energy, community initiatives, employability programmes and environmental projects. Here are some of the ways ERSG is supporting these goals.

Quality Education

Through our partnership with Diversita.co.uk and Reed, ERSG supports employability workshops for neurodivergent young people in local schools. The workshops help participants develop skills and confidence as they start thinking about their future careers.

We also support Building a Future for Peruvian Children, a grassroots organisation providing school supplies to underprivileged students in Peru.

Gender Equality

ERSG supports greater representation and access to opportunities for women in the renewable energy sector. We created Women in Wind, a LinkedIn community where people can network and discover career opportunities within the wind industry. The community grew by 50% in 2025, and the ERSG team continues to contribute to wider industry discussions, including through speaking at the Women’s Virtual Summit.

Decent Work and Economic Growth

With 16 offices worldwide, ERSG works across established and developing renewable energy markets. We support the transfer of skills across borders by connecting experienced professionals with markets where the renewable energy industry is still developing. This can help businesses access specialist expertise while supporting the development of local talent and long-term skills within growing renewable energy markets.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

Renewable energy technologies are developing quickly, creating demand for professionals with specialist skills and experience. ERSG’s specialist teams work across areas of the renewable energy sector, connecting organisations with the talent needed to develop and deliver projects. This includes supporting projects from development and construction through to operations and maintenance.

Reduced Inequality

ERSG supports efforts to reduce inequality through skills transfer, local talent development and our approach to diversity and inclusion. By connecting experienced professionals with developing renewable energy markets, we help share knowledge and support local workforces. Within our own organisation, we also focus on creating equal opportunities in recruitment. Our teams support wider community initiatives addressing social and economic inequalities, including organisations providing food and agricultural support for orphanages in Taiwan.

Sustainable Cities and Communities

Renewable energy infrastructure needs skilled local workforces to support its development and long-term operation. ERSG’s global network allows us to recruit locally in regions where renewable energy industries are developing. This can help build local skills and support the growth of renewable energy infrastructure beyond individual projects.

Climate Action

ERSG supports the energy transition by sourcing talent for renewable energy projects and helping organisations access the skills they need to work towards their Net Zero goals.

Through our partnership with One Tree Planted, we plant a tree for every successful contract placement. In Q1 2026, ERSG planted 687 trees, bringing our total to 10,973 trees. We also recruit for environmental conservation roles that support renewable energy projects while considering the natural habitats around them.

Life Below Water

As offshore renewable energy expands, protecting marine ecosystems is an important part of responsible development.

ERSG recruits for marine conservation roles, including Marine Mammal Observers (MMOs), who monitor offshore wind construction activities to help reduce disturbances to marine mammals and their habitats. We also recruit Rope Access Workforce professionals who help maintain ships and offshore equipment, including removing algae and other build-up.

These roles support the development of offshore renewable energy while helping to protect the marine environments in which projects operate.

The SDGs cover a wide range of social, economic and environmental issues, and there are many ways for businesses to contribute. At ERSG, our work in renewable energy recruitment, skills development, community initiatives and environmental conservation allows us to support several of these goals. As the energy transition continues, we will continue looking for ways to support the people, projects and communities involved.
