Highways Design EngineerIpswich - 3 days per week on-site6-month contractInside IR35We're looking for an experienced Highway Design Engineer to join a busy highways design team delivering improvements, maintenance schemes, and infrastructure upgrades across the region.This role will suit someone who enjoys taking projects from concept through to detailed design, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering safe, compliant engineering solutions.ResponsibilitiesProduce design packages, drawings, reports, and technical deliverablesOrganise and undertake site visits and surveysDeliver projects on time and within budget while meeting internal quality standardsEnsure all work complies with Health & Safety and Environmental requirementsAssist with resource planning and coordination of multidisciplinary contributorsSupport and develop junior staff, including engineers and techniciansWork collaboratively with stakeholders to develop project objectives and design outcomesBuild and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partnersSkills & ExperienceIncorporated Engineer or experienced engineer working toward IEng/CEngSolid experience in highway design and constructionStrong commercial awareness in project deliveryKnowledge of Local Highway Authority standardsExperience supporting and developing junior team membersUnderstanding of ASTA or similar programming/project toolsDemonstrated ability to manage H&S and Environmental considerations in designProficient with AutoCAD; drainage, alignment or traffic sign design software desirableStrong IT skills across Microsoft Excel, Word, and related toolsFull UK/EEC driving licenceersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants.
