Principal Engineer - Temporary WorksLocation: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home)Contract: 12 MonthsDetermination: Outside IR35Rate: £400 - £450 per day (DOE)We're looking for a Chartered Principal Temporary Works Engineer to join a growing Energy team, leading the design and delivery of complex temporary works across gas and energy infrastructure projects.This is a key technical leadership role where you'll provide engineering assurance, mentor a developing team and help expand our in-house capability, reducing reliance on external consultants for high-value temporary works projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and technical review of temporary works solutions.Provide engineering governance and ensure compliance with BS 5975, Eurocodes and relevant British Standards.Act as the senior technical authority for complex temporary works projects.Support and mentor junior engineers, developing the team's capability.Work closely with clients, project teams and construction teams to deliver safe, practical and buildable solutions.Drive best practice in temporary works design, risk management and engineering compliance.About YouChartered Engineer (CEng).Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Extensive experience in temporary works design and management.Strong knowledge of BS 5975, Eurocodes and British Standards.Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.Experience within hydrocarbon or energy infrastructure is highly desirable. ersg are an equal opportunities employer; we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all job applicants. Candidate Screening* Review CV's and conduct phone screenings to assess candidate suitability and motivation.* Brief candidates on suitable roles and interview processes.* Check right-to-work documentation, qualifications and references. Relationship Management* Schedule candidate interviews with clients and deliver constructive feedback.* Guide candidates through offer negotiation, acceptance and onboarding stages.* Keep our internal database updated with accurate candidate records.
